Light Requirements
Monstera Deliciosa thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. A spot a few feet away from a south or west-facing window is ideal. Too much direct sun can scorch the leaves, while too little light may result in leggy growth and leaves that don't develop their characteristic splits (fenestrations).
Watering
Water your Monstera when the top 2-3 inches of soil have dried out. Water thoroughly, allowing the excess to drain from the bottom of the pot. They are susceptible to root rot, so be careful not to overwater. Reduce watering frequency during the fall and winter months when the plant's growth slows down.
Humidity & Temperature
As a tropical plant, Monstera appreciates higher humidity. Aim for 50-60% humidity if possible. You can increase humidity by misting the leaves a few times a week, placing a humidifier nearby, or grouping it with other plants. They prefer typical indoor temperatures between 65-85°F (18-29°C).
Support & Pruning
In their natural habitat, Monsteras are climbers. Providing a moss pole or trellis will give their aerial roots something to cling to and encourage larger leaf growth. You can prune your Monstera to control its size and shape. Simply trim off any yellowing leaves or long, leafless stems.
